What is Dysport?

Dysport is a purified protein, similar to Botox,  that is injected in very tiny doses into facial muscles to temporarily block nerve impulses to that specific muscle.  The result is a decrease in facial lines and creases that result from muscle movement (dynamic facial lines) on the face.  Dysport does not erase creases in the skin that are present at rest or without facial movement (static lines), however, it can improve the appearance of them over time.

Dysport Treatment

Dysport treatments only take minutes to perform.   The injections are administered using an ultra-fine needle which is inserted into the target muscles to be treated. At Hill Country Cosmetics we take extra steps to ensure your comfort by applying a topical anesthetic or cold compress to alleviate any associated pain with the injections.  Common treatment areas with Dysport are between the eyebrows (“angry lines”), around the eyes (“crows feet”), on the forehead (horizontal lines) and lines around the mouth (“smoker’s lines”).   These injections decrease the muscle’s ability to contract therefore preventing facials lines from becoming deeper while softening their appearance.  When treated before static lines are present, Dysport can prevent facial lines from forming.

Dysport Effects

The effects of Dysport may be seen as quickly as 24-72 hours after treatment and will last for approximately 3-4 months.  With continued treatment, the lines seen as a result of muscle movement may begin to fade or disappear.
