MedSpa Lakeway Services
What is a MedSpa?
Medical Aesthetics is a term used for aesthetic, or skin care, treatments provided in a medical setting that are more transformative than a typical day spa procedure such as a facial. These types of facilities are often referred to as a “MedSpa”, “MediSpa’” or “Medical Spa” as they occur in a medical facility where the treatments are performed under the supervision of a physician with a relaxing spa-like atmosphere.
Typical services founds in medspa’s are often a blend of those found in a medical practice and those found in a day spa. Services include treatments such as injectable neuromodulators such as Botox or Dysport, laser treatments, microneedling, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, facials, body contouring, lash and brow tinting and waxing. Medical Spas often offer physician-grade skincare products for home use to maintain and extend the results of your in-office procedures.
Who Performs the Lakeway MedSpa Treatments?
All non-medical procedures such as facials, microdermabrasion, waxing, lash and brow tinting and light chemical peels are performed by a licensed esthetician.
All medically-based procedures such as Botox injections, laser treatments, microneedling, and stronger chemical peels are performed by an esthetician.
Because many of the services found in a medspa use a prescription medication or are considered a medical treatment, all aspects of a medical spa fall under the supervision of a licensed Physician. In the State of Texas all supervising Physicians are required by law to be trained and certified on the prescription-based services they are offering. Additionally all patients are required to be seen by a prescriber (Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) once per year prior to receiving any prescription medical spa treatments. All non-prescription medical spa treatments (facials, waxing, microdermabrasion, light chemical peels) do not require a prescriber visit prior to treatment.
At Hill Country Cosmetics there is no charge for our prescriber to meet with you prior to your treatments.
